Hello, my name is Joe pickle.
The Lore of Veyrune
Long before kingdoms claimed borders and before roads cut across the wilderness, there was a hidden valley known only through rumors. Travelers spoke of distant lights floating above the hills, of whispers carried by the wind, and of stars that seemed brighter there than anywhere else in the world.
In the age of wandering explorers, a cartographer named Elias Thorn followed those rumors into the valley. What he found changed history.
At the center of the valley rested an enormous crystal emerging from the earth. Its surface shimmered like liquid starlight, and a slow pulse echoed from within as though the crystal possessed a living heart.
Elias called the discovery a miracle.
The first settlers built stone homes nearby and founded the village of Veyrune.
Over the next several centuries, Veyrune grew into a thriving city. Crops flourished, rivers remained clear throughout droughts, and winters were milder than those of neighboring lands. Many believed the crystal protected the city.
Not everyone agreed.
A secretive society known as the Order of the Veil warned that the crystal was not a gift, but a seal imprisoning something buried deep beneath the valley.
Their warnings were ignored.
Then came the event forever remembered as The Shattering Sky.
One night, the heavens erupted with streaks of fire. The stars themselves appeared to fall.
When morning arrived, the great crystal had split into seven fragments.
The effects were immediate.
Shadows occasionally moved independently of their owners.
Forgotten memories appeared as ghostly figures in public squares.
Bells rang in empty towers.
Entire alleyways shifted position overnight.
Certain clocks began counting backward.
Most cities would have collapsed into panic.
Veyrune adapted.
The seven crystal fragments were secured and housed throughout the city, each creating a unique district.
Ashforge
The industrial district where heat from a crystal shard powers enormous workshops.
Silverflow
A canal-filled district famous for trade, shipping, and floating markets.
Whisper Quarter
A cultural district where artists claim inspiration arrives through voices carried on the wind.
Hearthstone
The oldest neighborhood, built around the foundations of the original settlement.
Greenspire
A district overflowing with gardens, glasshouses, and towering trees.
Astral Heights
Home to observatories, scholars, and historians studying celestial phenomena.
The Deep Warrens
A maze of underground streets beneath the city where smugglers, explorers, and forgotten societies operate.

The Eighth Fragment
The greatest mystery of Veyrune concerns an object no one has ever found.
Ancient records claim the original crystal shattered into eight pieces, not seven.
Only seven fragments were recovered.
The missing fragment became known as The Lost Star.
Legends claim it can:
Alter memories.
Rewrite history.
Open paths to forgotten worlds.
Awaken whatever lies beneath the valley.
Treasure hunters have searched for centuries.
Every expedition fails.
Every map ends in contradiction.
Every clue seems to change over time.
Yet once each year, during the Festival of Falling Stars, the city’s lights extinguish at midnight.
For exactly sixty seconds.
During that darkness, thousands of citizens stand silently in the streets.
And beneath the city, many swear they hear a distant heartbeat.
A heartbeat growing louder with every passing year.
As if something below Veyrune is slowly waking up.
